Referencing traditional Korean lacquerware inlaid with mother of pearl, this box contains memories from Korean ideals. The sides have the Four Gracious Plants, and top has aerial creatures: cranes and magpies.
The challenge was to create a sculpture piece that has two parts all laser cut : one part made of hard material, and the other made with malleable material to wrap the enclosure.

I chose wood panel and paper. I converted a complex illustration file and manipulated the file in Rhino, and cleaned it up to ensure a clean outcome.
